A variety of classes, groups and services are available to incarcerated individuals of the Arlington County Detention Facility.
Trained community volunteers are assisted by professional program managers and instructors to provide an outstanding assortment of programs and services to Arlington incarcerated individuals.
OAR jail based programs include classes in such essential life skill areas as anger management, values clarification, and parenting. Basic education classes include GED, computer literacy, and creative writing.
Community volunteers provide over 40 courses inside the detention facility including Stress Management, Health Awareness, Conflict Resolution, Impact of Crime, Expressive Arts, Creative Writing, Starting Your Own Business, Money Management, Life Skills and Life Skills for Spanish Speakers, among many others.
Lastly, OAR offers career development classes including ERG, an employability readiness program, and LEVOS, a vocational training program in office skills and computer proficiency.
