Arlington County Detention Facility
OAR programs for inmates are made possible by the close coordination, positive working relationships, and in some cases joint sponsorship with the Department of Sheriff of Arlington County.
OAR coordinators meet regularly with management representatives and security staff of the Arlington County Detention Facility to plan programs, coordinate the work of detention center staff and community volunteers, and discuss inmates’ progress.
DOC Probation and Parole Offices
Offender Aid and Restoration has long enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the local Probation and Parole Offices of the Virginia Department of Corrections.
Probation and Parole Officers refer individuals to OAR for ex-offender services such as transportation resources, identification assistance and employment counseling. OAR in turn frequently assists probationers and parolees in meeting their community supervision obligations.
Such coordination represents a public-private partnership in which clients benefit, communities are served, and public safety is enhanced.
