OAR is in need of volunteers of a variety of interests and skill levels. There are many opportunities available, including ways to serve as mentors, instructors, tutors, administrative assistants, and more.
Interested in learning more about OAR, or are you ready to take the first step in becoming a volunteer? If so, you are invited to attend a one-hour OAR Tour to learn more about our programs and services and hear directly from our staff and clients. Tours are held twice per month at various times of day, for your convenience. Several upcoming Tour dates include July 20 at 8:00 am, August 9 at 12:00 noon, and August 25 at 8:00 am. To sign up for a Tour, please contact Heather Pritchett at hpritchett@OARonline.org or 703-228-0071.
Immediately following each Tour, and at various other times, a one-hour Volunteer Orientation is offered for those who are interested in volunteering with OAR. During the Orientation, you will learn in depth about our volunteer opportunities and review some of our policies and procedures. Next steps will be discussed, based on your interest. A full list of upcoming Volunteer Orientations can be found on our website’s “Volunteer Training” page. To sign up for an Orientation, please call us at 703-228-7030.
Volunteers are critical to the mission and services at OAR – we could not accomplish our goals without our dedicated volunteer team. We hope YOU will consider joining our team!
