SUPPORT OAR’S DIRECT SERVICES PROGRAMS

  • Support OAR’s Direct Services programs for individuals returning to the community from incarceration or who have been recently released from incarceration or who are involved in our alternative sentencing and diversion programs. Right now your support is more crucial than ever with all that has been going on over the last two years with the COVID-19 pandemic. OAR’s provides a range of Direct Services to participants and their families including: clothing, food, phones, laptops, assistance with housing, transportation, ID retrieval, employment, mental health services, and more. SUPPORT OAR’S RACIAL JUSTICE & LIBERATION PROGRAMS

  • We lift the voices of those who’ve experienced racism and other intersecting forms of marginalization & challenge those who’ve benefited from personal & systemic racism to become leaders in dismantling injustice and redressing the harm caused by personal racism. There are many ways to support OAR’s Racial Justice & Liberation efforts. 1) Donate online at https://bitly.com/oardonate or on this campaign page to provide scholarships to OAR participants for our racial justice and liberation virtual learning cohorts 2) Register online for one of OAR’s upcoming racial justice & liberation virtual cohorts at https://bit.ly/OARracialjusticecohort.

SUPPORT OAR’S CHILDREN AND FAMILIES PROGRAMS

  • OAR works with the Arlington County Detention Facility (ACDF), the Alexandria Adult Detention Center (ADC), and OAR direct service participants to provide programs throughout the year and also year-round for parents experiencing incarceration to connect with their children and families to strengthen the bond that is often strained by incarceration and the criminal legal system. Through these programs, OAR provides $50/per child (in the form of a gift card/e-gift card/check) along with a handwritten letter from their parent.
