Fair Chance Business Pledge

Do you represent a business that believes in giving fair chances? OAR is reaching out to local businesses and is asking them to sign the “Fair Chance Business Pledge” as a way to demonstrate a commitment to offering fair chances to individuals who have previously experienced incarceration. When almost 70 million individuals in the United States – nearly one in three adults – have a record, it is important to remove unnecessary barriers that may prevent these individuals from gaining access to employment, training, education and other basic tools required to thrive in life.  This initiative began as a national effort several years ago.  The national pledge is now inactive, but over 100 businesses signed on to the pledge, including Best Buy, CVS, Facebook, Target, Uber, and many others.

Please consider signing on to our local version of the “Fair Chance Business Pledge” today!

The Pledge:  “We are committed to providing individuals with criminal records, including individuals who have experienced incarceration, a fair chance to participate in the United States economy.”

By taking this pledge, your business is joining a community of local partners that believe in fair chances for all.  Your company name will be added to our website as having signed the pledge.
